Two slumping franchises face off when the Denver Nuggets face off against the Phoenix Suns.

Also, the Nuggets would get Nets reserves Quinton Ross, Stephen Graham and Ben Uzoh.Something better happen soon if the Nuggets want to win again.

The Suns are not faring any better than the Nuggets of late.The Suns have also lost three straight games entering this contest. They lost to the Kings, the Lakers, and the New York Knicks. The loss to the Knicks was the most embarrassing as they were crushed at home by more than 20 points. The Suns are still adjusting to life after their blockbuster trade with the Orlando Magic. Veteran Vince Carter is trying to find a way to blend in with the fast paced offense of the Suns.

The Suns are at home and in a game that features two teams playing as bad as this, that may be the difference maker in deciding an outcome of this game. The Suns finally get back in the win column with a victory over the distracted Nuggets.

The Lakers just throttled the Cleveland Cavaliers by allowing just 57 points in the last outing.

The Golden State Warriors hope to score much more than that.

The  Warriors are loaded with young talent and seemingly ready to take the next step and compete in the NBA playoffs. If they want to jump that hurdle they need to win big games like this one, when they host the LA Lakers.

If the Warriors want to beat the defending champions they will have to play much better than they did in their game against the LA Clippers. The Clippers, led by rookie of the year candidate Blake Griffin, stomped the Warriors. Despite constant double teams, Griffin notched his 23rd straight double-double of the season. Stephen Curry and the other Warriors were out of sync offensively and out of sync the entire night. The Warriors will get a rematch with the Clippers, but must first deal with the Lakers.

After a mini-slump the Lakers seemed to have righted the ship and calmed some nerves in Hollywood. The Lakers are steam rolling the opposition and have scored 99 points or more in the last four victories. Ron Artest is setting the tone defensively and the Lakers are getting some solid contributions off the bench.

Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are the leading scorers from the floor and set up an inside-outside attack that is nearly impossible to stop. The Lakers are getting defensive stops that are translating to easy baskets on the other end of the basketball court.

The Warriors have no hope of playing with the Lakers, if they perform like they did against the Clippers. They will have to hope for an energized crowd to get them to play to another level if they have any hopes of taking a swipe at the defending champions.
